Discover what great minds have said about ethics.
You know what is right or wrong mostly from that gut instinct inside you. You have an uneasy feeling when you read, hear or see actions or plans that grind against some of the principles you hold.
These ethical principles are often reflections of our unique cultures and upbringing.
Therefore although we often agree on a wide range of ethical behavior, the lines can sometimes be crossed for others.
Here we celebrate voicing your principles and ethics with these quotes.
These are not here to give you comfort, but more to help to provide strength to make a stand and speak up for what you believe to be true and right.
Within society, the political arena or within the workplace and home, your ethics should be lived out and not constraints to thoughts.
The Western philosophy of ethics explained.
It is said that we typically draw upon three main types of ethical reference.
Firstly from the work of Aristotle – as will be seen in some of the quotes used. These target charity and virtues such as justice.
Secondly, we have the position by Kant of central morality. As rational entities to respect others.
Thirdly is the principle of conducting behavior for the greatest benefit of the highest number.
This last point is a position of a challenge from minorities and so hence enters the world of persuasion and politics.
