The Most Popular Internet of Things Information Sources
What is the Internet of Things (IOT)
There are many trends and changes throughout the planet that will impact all out lives through society. The Internet of Things (IOT) is once such trend. Already we have seen how the internet has impacted people, government, society and business. This is just the start for a future where many different internets may be created and yet the Internet of Things is how everyday items will turn into connected devices allowing to receive and/or send data.
WHY SHOULD I CARE?
This development has already impacted several millions of connected devices and is recognized by the industry leaders across the globe as a significant growth area. IOT will impact everyone and almost “everything” and thus some care in understanding the development and security risks are important.
Life: The technology now in your smartphone is rapidly becoming powerful enough to transfer into everyday objects. Think smart lights, shades, ovens, cars, vacuum cleaners, washing machines, fridges, food produce, clothing, tools, doors, air conditioning etc. Your consumer choice and decisions through IOT connected devices can provide more automation, cost and energy savings and improved remote control of your home environment.
Business: The business ecosystem today is very different from that in 1980. Many small, medium and large companies and industries have gone out of business by not adjusting to changing technology fast enough. If you want your business to retain value for the market and exist in 10 years then ensure you have considered IOT within it's strategy.
